Alumni
A message from Ecology Alumna Carrie Shaw (M.S., ’91):
I am delighted that the GGE is receiving national and international recognition for excellence from such entities as US News and World Report, the National Research Council, and the ISI. This acknowledgement of the outstanding quality of the GGE’s unique academic program reflects highly on the faculty, staff, and students currently part of the GGE, those who established, developed, and guided the GGE over the past 40 years, and especially the caliber of the faculty and students to be recruited in years to come. It is something we can all be extremely proud of.
To build on this legacy, I have chosen to help the GGE reconnect with and build strong connections to our over 1200 alumni. As a volunteer member of the GGE’s 40th Anniversary Committee, I can tell you that we need help and advice from many more alumni. I urge you to participate. We alumni have spread out far and wide professionally. We also have a diversity of ideas and skills to help strengthen our GGE and maintain its leading role in educating and training the next generation of ecologists.
If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity to get involved, let me know. My email is: cashaw@fireecology.net
