DVM, UC Davis 1993 Ph.D. UC Davis Ecology 1997
- I study the ecology of infectious diseases. My main research investigates the natural history of Anaplasma phagocytophilum in humans, rodent reservoirs, other wildlife, and companion animals, as well as the ixodid tick vector. I am interested in the broad scope of the problem, from the process of disease induction to maintenance of the disease agent in nature, to modeling the population process. Other interests include plague and other rodent-associated vector-borne diseases.
