Research Interests

  • Research is on modeling and analysis of populations with age, size and spatial structure. These are most often applied to population problems in the marine environment. Applications include fisheries management and marine conservation through use of marine reserves. Dr. Botsford is also one of the principals in the Partnership for Education in Marine Resource and Ecosystem Management (PEMREM) which sponsors training of students for quantitative analysis in marine resource management.
