Research Interests

  • My interests are in marine larval ecology, specifically larval adaptations to the dangers of the plankton, how larvae disperse and return to suitable habitat, and the evolution of life history strategies in the sea. This research has implications for adaptive evolution, climate change forecasting, marine protected area design, and fisheries management. I use a combination of field and lab experiments to investigate these questions related to the critical early life stages of marine invertebrates.
